"...Nowadays zombie films seem to be everywhere, mostly in part of how easy it is to make one. But that doesn't mean they are always going to be quality films. Well, Not Quite Dead is in fact a very good short and looked better than any short I have seen in ages.

For starters the special effects impressed the shit out of me as did the makeup. The actors, all being amateurs did a great job as well. I was also impressed with the way it was shot; it looked good all around. While taking a humorous approach (think Shaun of the Dead or Plaga Zombie: Mutant Zone) the short details what steps your average American kid would take to survive a zombie outbreak..."

Mandie Smith Crowned as Gore Girl of the Month!

Mandie Smith, our multi-talented, multi-tasking crew member with a heart of gold and a knack for keeping us in line, has been crowned as August's Gore Girl of the month and interviewed by Danny Northside for the website, Icansmellyourbrains.com. In the interview, she reveals the trials and tribulations of independent filmmaking as well as the reasons she continues to do it.

In the photo spread, by Brad Garner, she reveals a bit more, so if seductive pictures, fake blood or evil 16mm cameras frighten you, you're probably going to have a few nightmares tonight. But that shouldn't stop you from checking out the site, which continues to support local art and artists in the valley, as well as ensure that shipments of fake blood continue to poor into valley costume shops with no end in site!

Drain took home the 2nd place award for the short: crime/drama category at this year's The Indie Gathering, in Ohio. We are all excited at the continued success of our short film and are looking forward to sharing more films in the future.

Drain wins Best Film at Cave Creek Film & Arts Festival

Over the weekend, SyntheticHuman Picture's short film, Drain, won Best Film at the Cave Creek Film and Arts Festival! There were many great films in the running and we are honored to have won this award.

Next week its on to Pasadena, California for the Action on Film International Film Festival and the Indie Gathering Film Festival!

Thanks again to the great cast and crew who worked tirelessly on this film.

Principle Photography For Her Special Day is complete!

SyntheticHuman Pictures just completed principle photography for their newest short thriller, Her Special Day, in Prescott, Arizona. In just 48 hours, the cast and crew pulled through with 37 hours of work on set, proving that passion and determination is just as effective as coffee when you are exhausted.

We are planning to complete the last scene of the film in Phoenix, Arizona this summer.

Written and directed by Casey Moore, Her Special Day is a cautionary tale about the destruction of judgment and natural instinct caused by involvement in a dark religion.
